Washed Potato


Potato is a starchy root vegetable of Central American origin. This humble tuber is one of the most widely grown root crops, and one of the cheapest staple food ingredients



When buying potatoes, look for those that are firm with even coloured skin. Try to avoid spongy or wrinkled potatoes, or those with green patches. Brushed potatoes are best stored in a cool dry place away from sunlight, in paper or hessian bags (the bottom of the pantry or kitchen cupboard is ideal).
